Night Has Settled

201490 mins

In 1983, Oliver Nicholas, at thirteen, is all around ready to enter the gifted high school universe of first-sex, vodka and conceivable love in New York City when he is damaged by the stroke of his maid (and just evident maternal figure), a 65 year-old Chilean lady named Aida. What should be an invigorating and fairly unfortunate transitional experience – plunging into the energizing, high speed universe of first encounters – rapidly becomes slanted by a tremendous sorrow, and a place of inside repulsions. Encircled by ladies – his untraditional, Spanish, photographic artist mother (more intrigued by the job of associate than mother) his sister, a comedic, entryway hammering victimizer, set apart by her parent’s separation; and Aida, his silver-haired passionate point of convergence nearly demise in Lenox Hill Hospital – Oliver battles to keep up with his job as “man in charge” and his sanity.
